As someone who checks her twitter stream almost immediately upon waking each morning, this blog, Tweetage Wasteland, really hits home. While the internet has enhanced my life in many ways, connecting me to friends from the past, family across the continent, and new friends I would have never met...some days it does seem like it controls my life!
It's interesting to reflect on life before the internet. I may be showing my age, but I didn't have an email account until I first went to college. We used to check our email on DOS-like computers in labs scattered around campus. Cell phones weren't in popular use so we'd leave messages on voice mail, call Mr. Moviephone for movie-times, and catch up up with each other over Panera Bread Co. rather than Facebook walls.
What's your favorite pre-Internet memory?

So I realized that within 1 hour of my husband's job offer (received via cell phone), I had posted to twitter, facebook, and blogged about it. Emailed my family, and replied to twitter and facebook comments re: the job. All without leaving my couch.
The internet blows my mind.
Ah yes, the days of catching up over some broccoli cheese soup at Panera. I miss those days!
