Catching My Breath

Here is a travel tip for you - don't fly cross country and back in two days and then resume work immediately. Going to DC on Tuesday and returning Wed night after a full day of meetings was exhausting enough, but to get up on Thursday and go into the office at 8 AM? That just wasn't fair! I was so tired all day I couldn't remember if I was coming or going! However it was a great trip, I got to meet the Freckled Citizen in person and enjoy some delicious margaritas and Mexican food. My husband gave me a hard time about traveling all that way for a tamale but he'll just have to try it for himself. Also - someone needs to bring salt foam margaritas to Tucson immediately. I'm going to do some research (i.e. google) and see if I can come up with it on my own. It will be my spring project.

I really enjoy going to DC, the city has so much energy and it is so nice to be able to walk places and take the metro! After my happy hour with Maggie I headed back to the hotel to meet up with my work group and we walked over to Georgetown for a late dinner at Mie N Yu. I limited myself to a small lamb kabob appetizer and enjoyed the conversation. The next day brought more metro rides, long walks with our carry-on suitcases between offices, and finally the trip back to Regan National. It was just too quick!

I've been catching up on work and sleep since then and after a hectic weekend filled with music, movies, and local festivals I'm off again tomorrow to Orlando. This trip is a full week and I'll be training at the most magical place on earth, Disney World! It's actually put on by Disney and part of our homework is to visit the parks after class gets out each evening...that's some homework I don't mind doing!

I am looking forward to spending some time at home, I've been on the road a few times a month since the beginning of the calendar year and it's so hard to keep up with everything. April will be busy with some local meetings and projects, but at least I don't have to pack all my toiletries in a quart sized ziplock bag and sleep in hotel beds!

I can be your on-the-ground contact for nailing down the recipe... surely we can figure it out somehow! So, so lovely to meet you and looking forward to your return! xo

So jealous that two of my favorite blogger ladies were in one place at the same time! So happy you had a good time. And I'm very, VERY intrigued by this "salt foam" margarita. Need recipe as soon as you figure it out!
