Fun, Fun, Fun, Fun, Fun...

This past Friday was not fun, fun, fun, fun, fun for me. I woke up in excruciating pain, having slept awkwardly I suppose. This made for constant back pain a day and I pretty much came home from work and went to bed. No partyin', partyin' for me. I think I had made myself more susceptible to tweaking my back with the recent increase in weights for my Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred workouts.

I managed to rally a bit today, thanks to some Ibuprofen and the liberal application of ice. Good thing too, as I had to supervise the construction of a raised vegetable bed. My Dad came over around 9 with his tools to help us assemble some pieces of wood into an actual completed product. I need to stain it and fill with 32 cubic feet of dirt and then I'll post pics! It was actually pretty easy (as reported by the laborers) so we're going to do a few more next weekend. Those will be even easier as now we know Home Depot will cut the pieces to size eliminating about half the time this takes! I'm looking forward to growing some veggies in our own backyard, and Bill's already inquired about composting but we're taking it one project at a time. Also on deck are some climbing vines for the back wall, replacing some plants out front that were killed in our cold snap, various flowers, and possibly a tree. I've become emboldened after keeping my four Ikea plants alive for the past 6 months!

Tonight will be another early night as I take care of my elderly back, and tomorrow we're going to check out the 4th Avenue Street Fair with some friends. This is my favorite time of year, the nights aren't so cold and so much is going on around town. Though it's a little hotter than usual (95 degrees the past several days!) at least it's a dry heat!

I'll leave you all with this video from Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, featuring Stephen Colbert and Tayor Hicks covering "Friday". I don't want this weekend to end!
